Study Shows Government Programs Do Little To Help Our Children

San Francisco, CA -- A new study by the Pacific Research Institute (PRI) finds no correlation between the 150 federal programs targeted specifically at children – and the $50 billion annually spent on these programs – and children’s well-being.

When faced with a huge $4.4 billion budget surplus, California lawmakers had the choice of returning most of the overcollected tax dollars back to taxpayers or increasing government spending. Sadly, in the recently approved state budget, state politicians decided to do much more of the latter than of the former.
