2001 State Test Scores

It's very important to test students to see if they’re learning in the classroom and meeting the standards of knowledge enacted by our state policymakers. The question, however, is whether California’s standardized test, the Stanford-9 exam, actually accomplishes those goals. Because of key problems with the test, it’s unclear just how much progress kids are making in their learning and what it is they are learning.

California’s elite students proved last week that, in addition to their academic woes, they have trouble distinguishing between freedom and tyranny. This is sure to please the world’s largest totalitarian state, which the students were defending.

San Francisco-Edison Milestones

Outreach, education, and grassroots support were the key elements of the substantial impact that the Pacific Research Institute (PRI) had in the fight to save the Edison Charter Academy (ECA). Supporting parents of ECA students was the first priority. To that end, PRI’s greatest milestone was earning the confidence of the parents. PRI had its most significant impact by introducing to parents the Institute as a community resource for school-choice issues.
