In order to be effective reformers in their districts, school board members must have the best information about policy options, strategies, and what works. Pacific Research Institute's training seminars for school board members provide this much-needed information through topic workshops taught by the top experts and practitioners in the field.
PRI's Santa Clara County training session for school board members will focus on issues such as union contracts and negotiations, successful charter school models, and effective strategies for communicating with constituents. Trainers for these sessions include a veteran school board member, a top charter school principal, and a premier education communications expert. Also PRI's director of education studies, Lance Izumi, will preview his new book on underperforming middle-class public schools in California. Handout materials, including PRI's influential and practical education books and studies, will be available
Cost: No Cost for School Board Members.
