Training Seminar for School Board Members

How does a school board member ensure that schools are improving student achievement? By implementing rigorous scientifically-proven curricula, using test results effectively, following school improvement models that work, understanding the keys to union negotiations, and eliminating student discipline problems.

The Pacific Research Institute will present an all-day training seminar on these topics for school board members on Wednesday, August 23 at the University of the Pacific School of Business (Weber Building, Room 102). The seminar will include workshops on effective testing and curricula, closing the achievement gap between white and minority students, how to negotiate with unions successfully, and implementing school discipline polices that are proven to work. Workshop trainers include leading education experts and successful education practitioners. A gasoline stipend of $50 will be paid to each attendee.

To register for the seminar, please contact Cindy Chin at (415) 955-6110 or cchin@pacificresearch.org
