Jeffrey H. Anderson, a Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University (American government and political philosophy) in 2001, taught Political Science at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) starting that fall, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2006, and won the department's highest honors for majors-level teaching ("Outstanding Upper-Division Instructor," 2006-07) and for academic research and writing (the Coble Award, 2003-04). He left USAFA in 2007 and worked in the Policy and Speechwriting Department of the Rudy Giuliani presidential campaign, before serving as the Senior Speechwriter for Secretary of Health and Human Services Mike Leavitt, from 2008-09. He became a Senior Fellow in Health Care Studies for the Pacific Research Institute in June 2009 and was the Director of the Benjamin Rush Society from 2009-2010. His writings have been published by such outlets as the Wall Street Journal, the Weekly Standard, the New York Post, the Washington Times, National Review Online, Investor's Business Daily, and he has made TV appearances on Fox News and Fox Business News. He also created one of the six college football computer rankings that is used each season by the Bowl Championship Series ;(BCS) to help decide what two teams will play in the National Championship Game. The Anderson & Hester Rankings have been part of the BCS Standings from 1998-present.
