As you know, FDA has been focusing a great deal of time and effort on the current state of medical innovation -- thinking about how they can work with their various partners – in government and academia (both at home and abroad) and in industry to bring innovative, new medical products to Americans and the world faster, more safely and more cost-effectively.

Because new medicines save lives and save money FDA recognizes it must be a partner in predictability. I’d like to spend some time this morning talking with you first about the steps FDA is taking to speed innovation; second, why you should care, and third, how we all need to work together to realize what people are rightfully calling the promise of the Biomedical Century.
