The Pacific Research Institute (PRI) has released its annual Economic Freedom Index of the United States.

The first map below depicts the results of the PRI survey with those states with the most economic freedom shaded in pastel green color; those with the least economic freedom shaded in pastel magenta color . The second map below shows the "red" and "blue" states in the last national election. Only Ohio and New Hampshire deviate from the high red state association with economic freedom.
