SAN FRANCISCO -Lance Izumi, director of Education Studies and senior fellow in California Studies, has been appointed to the California Advisory Committee of the United States Commission on Civil Rights. The California committee is one of 50 state committees that advise the Commission on local civil rights issues. There are 18 members of the California committee.

“It is an honor to serve with these distinguished individuals from diverse backgrounds, and I look forward to working with my fellow committee members and the staff of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights to address the important issues and problems that confront and affect the people of California,” said Izumi.
