E-mail Print New Film Takes Aim at Gore's "Inconvenient Truth"
KCBS News Clipping
4.14.2007

KCBS News, April 14, 2007

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- “An Inconvenient Truth or Convenient Fiction” is a much lower budget film than Al Gore’s award winning documentary on global warming. The star is a senior fellow of San Francisco-based Pacific Research Institute, Steven Hayward, who takes what he calls a “less alarmist” view of global climate change.

"It's less alarmist or catastrophic and it also points out that a lot of the scientific debates about important aspects of this issue are not settled and there are a wide range of opinions," said Hayward.

He added he takes issue with the “worst case” scenario Gore depicts in his film, like the predicted 20 foot sea rise. "The latest UN report has a worst case scenario of 23 inches," Hayward said.

Hayward’s film was shown in San Francisco this week. He said while he doesn't want to pick a fight, or deny the effects of global warming, he wants to present a different view.
