SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The Board of Directors of the Pacific Research Institute, a free-market think tank based in San Francisco, has elected Lisa Guillermin Gable as its new chairman. “The Pacific Research Institute is helping to turn California around. Its policies promote economic growth, a business-friendly climate, and innovation. It also provides a step-by-step reform agenda in two critical areas – education and health care,” said Ms. Gable. Ms. Gable said she is “delighted to be part of the leadership for an organization that is doing so much to help entrepreneurs and small-business owners, who form the backbone of the state’s economy.” Ms. Gable is a former business owner in California and worked at Intel Corporation. She has also held positions in the White House and the U.S. Department of Defense. She serves on the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships as well as various philanthropic and political boards. Sally Pipes, PRI’s president and CEO, said, “Ms. Gable’s election will help to open a new and exciting chapter in the Institute’s evolution.” PRI will be celebrating its 25th anniversary next year, Pipes noted. “We look forward to our second quarter century with great enthusiasm.” ### About PRI For more than two decades, the Pacific Research Institute for Public Policy (PRI) has championed individual liberty through free markets.
