E-mail Print Pacific Research Institute Launches E-Mail Newsletter on Technology Policy
Press Release
3.1.1999

Press Release

For Immediate Release: March 1, 1999

San Francisco – The Center for Freedom and Technology (CFT), a program of the San Francisco-based think tank Pacific Research Institute, today launched an e-mail newsletter intended to educate policy makers, the media, and the Internet community about free-market responses to efforts to regulate the high-technology industry.

"E-Clips: Commentary on Technology Policy" will address issues such as encryption regulation, Internet taxation, online privacy, and telecommunications policy, and will be disseminated to a wide-ranging audience the first of each month.

"It is our hope that this monthly newsletter will help shape the debate over the role of government in the high-tech industry, and will show leaders in this area the dangers associated with increased regulation," said CFT director Justin Matlick. "For instance, our first newsletter shows how encryption regulation compromises national security and harms the economy."

To subscribe to this newsletter, e-mail your request to pripp@pacificresearch.org.
