PRI Introduces New Education Resource

SAN FRANCISCO –The Pacific Research Institute (PRI) announces its new Internet-based education resource – the California Education Clearinghouse. Located on PRI’s website at: (http://liberty.pacificresearch.org/publications/id.190/pub_detail.asp) this site will provide a one-stop overview on education policy for the state’s parents, teachers, school board members, and the media. “Whether you are trying to improve standards and accountability in your district, looking for the best school for your child, or striving to implement policy reform, you will find this site useful,” said Lance Izumi, director of Education Studies at PRI. Among other education issues, the website provides statistics and background regarding California’s: • Test scores • Accountability • Union Contracts • School Choice In addition, PRI has also posted its highly regarded studies on the site, including the newly released California Education Report Card: Index of Leading Education Indicators, Third Edition and They Have Overcome: High-Poverty, High-Performing Schools in California.
