E-mail Print PRI Scholar Lance Izumi to Deliver Testimony on Paycheck Protection to Senate and Assembly Committees
Press Release
9.26.2005

Press Release

For Immediate Release: September 26, 2005

SAN FRANCISCO – Tomorrow, September 27, the Pacific Research Institute’s director of education studies, Lance T. Izumi, will give invited testimony at the state Capitol on Proposition 75, the paycheck protection initiative on the November 8 special election ballot. Mr. Izumi is available for media comment.

In Mr. Izumi’s opening remarks, he will argue: “Teachers, firefighters, nurses, and policemen deserve the right to allocate their money as they see fit. Their freedom of political choice should not be silenced merely because they belong to a union. While unions may lose money, paycheck protection will give a voice back to individual union members, and will force unions to be more responsive to the opinions of the members they represent.”
