Dear Technology Business Leader, The Tech Alliance of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce cordially invites you to a discussion with Gilman Louie, the CEO of In-Q-Tel, the venture capital fund of the Central Intelligence Agency. Gilman will be speaking on Opportunities for Technology to Serve the National Interest. In-Q-Tel, Inc., a private not-for-profit "venture catalyst" chartered by the CIA, is dedicated to identifying and delivering the next generation of information technology to support the CIA's critical missions. For almost 60 years, the CIA successfully developed technologies that contributed to national security. But the blistering pace of technology development today has made it difficult for any government agency to access and absorb the latest in information technologies. In-Q-Tel strives to extend the Agency's access to new IT companies, solutions and approaches that can address some of its priority problems. In order to accelerate technologies into the CIA, In-Q-Tel uses strategic venturing techniques to partner with companies, and work with them to develop their technologies. To ensure that the CIA gets technology that is both affordable and leading edge, In-Q-Tel invests in technologies that have the potential to succeed in the commercial marketplace. Please join us at 5:30 pm on November 8th at the Hotel Nikko. The agenda will be: - Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres
- Welcoming remarks by Andrew Beebe and Chris Alden, Co-Chairs of the Tech Alliance
- Policy & Politics in San Francisco, by Roberta Achtenberg & Eric Jaye
- Introduction of Gilman Louie by Scott Durchslag, 12 Entrepreneuring
