President's Message - Fall 2007 Publication By:Sally C. Pipes 9.1.2007
A year ago we suffered a great loss with the passing of Milton Friedman, a longtime mentor of the Pacific Research Institute and a fellow champion of individual liberty, choice, and responsibility. In political circles last year, those ideas seemed little in favor, but as Milton would remind us, “the maintenance of a free society is a very difficult and complicated thing.” We responded the way he would have wanted.
The Pacific Research Institute pushed ahead with determination and vigor into our 28th year, still fighting for the same maxims of free markets and free people that have guided us since our founding. We remain strategically placed for victory on the battlefield of ideas, where Milton Friedman fought the good fight.
