Fear the Boom and Bust

Fight of the Century

Tim Anaya – “Bombs Bursting in Air” over Los Angeles

On Wednesday night, while watching the Washington, DC and New York fireworks displays on TV, I was scrolling through Twitter and saw nothing but complaints about how loud the neighbors were setting off fireworks and how Sacramento should ban personal fireworks. Look for a blog post on that next week. In the meantime, check out this cool video I also saw on Twitter Wednesday night from NBC 4’s helicopter showing all the illegal fireworks displays in Los Angeles. Despite the local ban, many Angelenos wanted to see the “bombs bursting in air” and celebrate freedom.

Ben Smithwick – Who Does a $15 Minimum Wage Help?

Last week, PRI hosted a joint luncheon with the Los Angeles Lincoln Club featuring Andrew Puzder, former CEO of Carl’s Jr. and Hardees, and the author of a new book on President Trump’s economic agenda. During his speech, Mr. Puzder reference this short video that he recorded not too long ago for Prager U breaking down how harmful a $15 minimum wage really is for opportunity and prosperity.
