YLC Event: You’ve Gotta Fight for Your Right to . . . Vape (Discussion with Dr. Tevi Troy)

October 22, 2018
590 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA, USA

In June, San Francisco voters decided a first-in-the-nation ban that included a ban on selling flavored liquids used in vaping. Given the open-minded nature of its residents and its relative embrace of alternative solutions to complex problems, it is surprising that the city approved the ban.

How should libertarians and free-market advocates view June’s vote and efforts to ban items that affect vaping and e-cigarettes?

Join PRI and the Young Leaders Circle for an interesting discussion on vaping with former White House official, Deputy HHS Secretary, and presidential historian Tevi Troy, who is now vice president of public policy at JUUL Labs.

He will discuss the policy debate surrounding vaping and how efforts in San Francisco and other California cities to ban e-cigarettes and flavored vaping impact individual freedom and are a short-sighted solution to a complex problem.

Monday, October 22
