5 Issues for 2024

How Government Is Failing on Voters’ Key Concerns and How Free Market Ideas Can Turn Things Around

Recent surveys show the economy, homelessness and housing, crime, climate change, and debt are the top issues for voters in advance of the 2024 elections.  On each of these issues, Sacramento and Washington are failing those they aim to help the most, particularly the vulnerable and the working class.  The 6th Annual PRI “California Ideas in Action” conference will explore in depth these “5 Issues for 2024.”  PRI scholars, elected officials, media voices, and real life changemakers will show how market-based ideas offer actionable solutions to these 5 key problems for California and the nation, and provide a realistic path forward compared to the failed status quo.

Panels and presentations:
  • Get a sneak preview of PRI’s new initiative showing how key bills and budget items really affect the economy and taxpayers
  • Learn what actually can be done to reduce homelessness in California
  • Hear a panel of experts discuss how we can reform criminal justice policy to put victims first
  • Listen to education reforms discuss how lowered academic standards hurt California’s students and the economy
  • Watch the author of Time to Think Small discuss how private sector innovation is key to addressing climate change
