Wednesday, October 2
Depart the United States on individual flights to Barcelona.

Thursday, October 3 – Barcelona
Arrive at Barcelona international airport and private car transfer to embarkation on the Crystal Serenity at Barcelona cruise harbor. Dinner on board.

Friday, October 4 – Mallorca
The ship arrives in the morning at Mallorca. Breakfast and lectures on board:

“Liberalism and the Polarization of American Politics”

Afternoon excursion with visits to Bellver Castle, the village of Valldemossa and the Royal Palace of Almudaine in the capital Palma. The ship departs Mallorca in the evening. Black Tie dinner on board.

Saturday, October 5 – Marseilles
Breakfast and lectures on board:

“False Premise, False Promise: The Current State and Future of Health Care in the U.S., Canada, and Britain”

“Thatcher, Reagan, and Trump, Oh My!”
Roundtable: John O’Sullivan, Steve Hayward, and Michael Anton

The ship arrives at Marseilles at noon. Afternoon excursion to Arles; we will see the highlights of Arles, the UNESCO World Heritage site, including the Roman arena, the Roman theater, and the Roman necropolis before strolling in the footsteps of Van Gogh and the places which inspired his art. The ship departs Marseilles in the evening. Dinner on board.

Sunday, October 6 – Monaco
Breakfast on board the ship. Full day Monte Carlo city tour with visits to Prince Rainer’s Palace and the Oceanographic Museum. Lecture and lunch at the Hotel de Paris:

“Brexit and Populism Lit Round the World”
Speaker: John O’Sullivan

Afternoon free time to shop or visit the famous Monte Carlo Casino. Dinner on board the ship.

Monday, October 7 – Monaco
Breakfast and lecture on board the ship:

“The Past and Future of American Conservatism”
Speaker: Steve Hayward

Visit the medieval village of Eze overlooking the peninsula of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. Drive along the Moyenne Corniche to Nice and spend the afternoon at Vielle Ville, the old city. The ship departs Monaco in the evening. Dinner on board.

Tuesday, October 8 – Livorno & Florence
Breakfast on board the ship. Full day excursion of the picturesque city Florence. Enjoy all of the Renaissance marvels Florence has to offer. Brunelleschi’s Duomo and baptistery, the church of Santa Croce with the tombs of Michelangelo, Galileo and Rossini, the Palazzo Vecchio and the Ponte Vecchio. Lecture and lunch at the Bernini Hotel, Florence:

“Churchill and the Future of Conservative Statesmanship”

Dinner on board the ship in the evening.

Wednesday, October 9 – Lucca & Carrara
Breakfast and lecture on board the ship:

“Machiavelli and America”
Speaker: Michael Anton

Day tour to Lucca, a picturesque village in the heart of Tuscany with ancient, medieval and renaissance architecture. This historic city was frequented by Caesar, the location of Dante’s exile, and conquered by Napoleon. A must-see for all. Afternoon wine tasting at a Chianti vineyard in the rolling hills of Tuscany with a lecture:

“Keeping a Republic: Ancient Rome and Modern America”

Cocktail reception and dinner on board the ship.

Thursday, October 10
Breakfast on board the ship. Disembarkation and individual flights back to the United States or choose to stay in Rome for the post-tour.
